Spring Break 2012

Before the boys began their Spring Break, I jetted off to Puerto Rico with Luca for a few days.  It's always nice to go visit and see everyone, but I missed my boys so much!  Daddy was super busy and they had a good time too though.  Here are a few pictures of my time in Puerto Rico.

Luca checking out the view at Apapa's.  This front porch is a classic picture place for us...

Watching the cars with Abuela.

With my first Geocache.  I sense an obsession coming.  Note Luca was very interested in my find.  =)

The spot where I said "YES!!!"

When it finally stopped raining, I ran down to the beach quickly just to take a walk.  Well, Luca did not want to be contained because he wanted to go play in the sand!  He had the best time.

How blessed!  Luca with two of he great-grandparents!

Super happy to be back with my family.

On Tuesday morning (I got home on Monday) Sebastian, Matteo and I sat down and made a list of all the fun and special things they wanted to do during the break.  It was a long list with some big things and some everyday things.  Below are the ones I was able to capture (or remembered to capture) on camera!

Make flags for a beach sand castle.  Sebastian drew an octopus on his.

Make a sand castle.

Go to the beach.  Luca loves this one.

Paint a big picture of a snake in a tree.

Go to the car wash.

Visit the nature center.

Go on a nature walk.

Go to the library.  Book choices were all in non-fiction - sharks, crabs, dinosaurs, dogs and dolphins.

Go on an airplane.  Now this one tested my creativity for sure, but I created an airplane under our nook table with a sheet and some chairs.  Then I gave them each tickets, seats (cushions), snacks and let them watch Dinosaur Train on the little DVD player.  They thought it was AWESOME.  Even though I know they wanted a real plane, they had a good time with it.

Have movie night and stay up late.

Do chalk.

Luca was totally into this one too.  He tried to eat it all the time though...yuck!

The beach was so much fun that we went back on Paul's off Friday.

Luca is waving at everyone these days, it's so cute!

The kids made this pool for Luca - he was thrilled with it when there was water in there!  The kids would run back and forth with buckets and pour the water in and he couldn't have been happier!  Sebastian did get a little upset though because the pool wouldn't stay full...

Matteo was the smarter worker.  He took the biggest bucket and Angelica and Sebastian would do all the running, give him their water and he would dump it into the pool.  Smart boy, eh!?!

Go on a picnic.

A few other things that were on "The List" but I don't have pictures of, included:
  • Go to Sea World (they went with Daddy when I was gone)
  • Go to the Fair (Sebastian went with Daddy, Matteo is too small!)
  • Do big puzzles
  • Blow bubbles
  • Have friends over to play
  • Watch movies with us in them (home videos)
It was a really fun week and I think we need to do a modified version of our List for the summer.  Maybe an activity jar?  Fun times! I won't promise that this is my return to regular blogging, but I am going to TRY REALLY HARD!!!

Random October Fun

IMG_1725

We spent the morning at the airport with my Dad the weekend that Paul was on a Men’s Retreat at church.  Sebastian actually wanted to go down the taxiway in the airplane, so off he went!

Luca hangs out in the highchair while I fold laundry or clean the floors.  And his brother’s have fun putting hats on him.  Luckily he’s usually a good sport.

IMG_1756

He’s starting to like his tummy much more now and is trying to get places already!!! Eks!

IMG_1764

I found him about 5 feet away from his blanket I put him on for playtime.  He was whining because he wedged his legs under his changing table.  Oh boy…things are going to be changing around our house soon!

Sebastian has a special morning with Daddy during “Donuts with Dad” at school.

The boys celebrated Uncle Corey’s birthday.  And happy birthday to Aunt Kim and Uncle Jeff too!  So many October birthdays!

IMG_1885

Anyone remember these?  Shrinky-dinks!  That you color and put in the oven so they shrink?!?!  I used to LOVE them.  Uncle Corey gave some to Sebastian and we had lots of fun.

The shark is shrinking!

Love this picture!

Bad picture of Mami, but cute picture of Luca.  We have mastered the back carry in the Maya and we both LOVE it.  Has made many things much easier lately!

A couple of videos too….

Late night chats with Luca.

Sebastian’s first joke.  Okay, so I don’t think he really understands what a joke is yet, but it was still cute. =)

Trip to Boston

As some of you may know from the birth story, we were all anxious for Luca’s arrival so we could travel to Boston to a big family wedding.  We really didn’t want to miss it, yet we wanted to make sure Luca was at least a month old before we embarked on such a big trip.  He arrived just in the nick of time so we packed our (many) bags and off we went on our first trip as a family of 5.

There will be two posts – one of our travels and things we did while in Boston and another one about the wedding.  Too many pictures! =)

A few days before the trip I figured I’d better try on the boy's suits to make sure nothing needed to be hemmed or taken out.  We bought this suit for Sebastian to be in Uncle Corey and Aunt Sarah’s wedding in January.  I could not believe how much he has grown since then!  We had to take the hem down almost 2 inches!!  They were quite proud of how handsome they looked. =)

One good thing about the Orlando Airport is that there are lots of fun things for kids to do and see before going through security!

Monorail to our gate.

Very excited, waiting for the airplane and watching all the action.  They liked having their own backpacks with toys and snacks for the flight too.  It was a huge help that my parents were on the same flight too.  Also, we brought my MIL with us to help with the older boys during the wedding, so she was there as well.  So many adults sure made everything easier!

Luca was a champ the whole flight! Not a peep!

Sebastian had fun playing with Lita and Lelo on the way there.

Our fancy hotel had all sorts of summer perks – free ice cream, bike rentals and a boat cruise on the Charles River (you’ll see those photos in a bit!).  Sebastian couldn’t wait to go on a bike ride!

CIMG5328

Summer in Boston was still pretty cool for us Floridians!

Luca got to meet his Titi Api Mayra. So sweet!

CIMG5340

Even while on vacation, we must always follow our routine for bedtime.  =)

CIMG5344

We all went on a boat tour of Boston the morning before the wedding.  It was grey and rainy, so it was a perfect way to see the city!

CIMG5345

Matteo liked the boat so much it put him to sleep later on.

CIMG5346

Little 5 week old Luca stayed warm and snuggled up with Mami.

CIMG5373

Ran out for the quick “Boston Skyline” picture!

On Sunday we headed to Titi Arlyn and Tio Frasqui’s house for lunch and to spend the day.  When we moved one year ago they were started this courtyard project in their backyard and now it is done – and looks incredible!  So beautiful!

Jonathan, Arlene and David – it was so nice to spend some time with them again!

The Sunday after the wedding was our 7th wedding anniversary.  The boys (ahem, my Mama), surprised us with a cake. =)  We’ll probably go out on an anniversary date once Luca gets a little older.  Hopefully….

Exactly one year ago we were moving – leaving Boston to come back to Melbourne.  We took this picture of the boys that weekend….

And here they are, one year later!

Our flight left late on Monday afternoon, so we drove up to spend the day in Marblehead.  It was COLD!

DSC07273

All bundled up!  Glad I threw in a few hats, just in case!

With Nana who helped us so much during our weekend!

The boys had a good time.  It’s amazing how much bigger they both are compared to the last time we were in Marblehead.  You can see that post here.

The boys with Titi Arlyn and Tio Frasqui.

CIMG5462

On the way back, Matteo sat with Daddy.  He was not all that impressed with flying…Sebastian on the other hand LOVES every second of it.

CIMG5471

Lelo and Luca hung out for a while too.

CIMG5303

It was a great flight back too!   What an adventure.  Wedding picture post coming next!
