Airshow Birthday Weekend

Last weekend, we took the boys to the Valkaria Air Show about 30 minutes south of where we live. It was my dad's birthday weekend and since both he and the boys love airplanes, we knew it would be the perfect birthday activity!

Sebastian had a great time taking pictures with his toy camera of all the airplanes on display. Lovin' the whole hunched over pose thing. I guess I must do that....

Who needs a double stroller?! Just throw both kids in the single. They like it! =)

Extended Vacation in Orlando

Soooo....here is the big drama that has kept me from blogging... It's a bit embarrassing, but I guess it's just a part of living near water and in Florida. We went on a 10 day vacation to North Carolina. We of course, left the house very clean and all wiped down, etc so it would be nice to come home. Well, it was not very nice when we got home. Turns out that we had a little visitor during the time we were gone. A rat. Yes, gross, a rat. It was a mess. Most of our food in the pantry had to be thrown out and of course because of the sanitary concerns, we just could not stay there with the kids. So off to my mom's we went. It took us 10 days to catch that little bugger and another 2 weeks to be sure that was it before we were able to go back. Then EVERYTHING - every dish, cup, toy, surface, floor, etc had to be cleaned. So it took a lot of work to even get to the point where we could come home. Finally, we got back in the house the day before Halloween. The boys just felt like they were on a long vacation I think - they had a ball playing with Lita all day, I loved getting naps every afternoon and Nana and Papa had fun seeing us every weekend. But we are just so glad to be back home!

Day at the Kennedy Space Center

On Saturday, we took advantage of the "Free Brevard County Residents Weekend" at the Kennedy Space Center. I was convinced that it was going to be crazy packed, especially since each Brevard resident could bring in up to 5 additional guests! What a steal right?! So although it opened at 9 am, I made sure everyone in our group was in the parking lot by 8 am so we could get in line early and be in FIRST. Well....as you can see below, we were.... ahem.... FIRST. I am not going to live this one down for a long, long time....

Sebastian didn't seem to mind as he walked around and asked to take pictures with all the signs leading into the parking lot.

In and out some more. I guess this is why we got there so early so there wouldn't be too many people annoyed with his constant turns.

Oh the buses! I think they were as much of a hit as everything else. So much so that we actually bought him a miniature one in the gift shop to bring home to play with.

He never naps like this in his stroller...but he was exhausted! The IMAX movie just didn't keep his attention.

After a recharging nap, he went on to eat a serving of pasta and THREE slices of pizza. I don't know how he does it.

After pizza we went to the airport to see the plane my dad recently flew back to Florida from Ohio. Here Sebastian is running down the taxiway flying like an airplane.

It's like a chair on wings. CRAZY!!!!! (Okay, maybe a love seat, but just barely!!)

Orlando Weekend

So tomorrow (Tuesday) is Sebastian's first day of preschool! He is so excited and I am so excited too! It's hard to believe that we are already at this point in our parenthood journey. I can't wait to do my next post to let everyone know how it went!

Welcome back to Florida, Nana and Papa!

Papa brought lots of "tic tac cheerios" for the boys. Matteo knew just who to go to for more!

Thursday was Sebastian's "meet the teacher" day. He did great! He was so excited and hung his backpack on his hook with his name on it and walked right in like he owned the place. It was so great to see him so confident and excited.

He started playing with the sorting toys and teasing his teachers Ms. Carolyn and Ms. Kathy by telling them everything that the little fruits were not. He is such a stinker!

Figured I better get this traditional at the door picture early since I'm sure his first day on Tuesday will be pretty busy! His teacher Ms. Carolyn loves frogs. I think that's a good sign since I love frogs too. =)

And here we are being cheesy as we go to our first parent teacher night. I hope this doesn't mean we are getting old. =) It was fun, exciting, overwhelming but overall a happy moment!

This weekend was my future sister-in-law Sarah's wedding shower. It was nice to meet some of her family and friends.

While Mami was at the wedding shower, Paul and Sebastian went to the Home Depot kids workshop and they made this school bus pencil holder. So cute.

We had lunch at Five Guys and Matteo got his first taste of ketchup. He loved it and just kept dipping his french fry in it and licking it off. We are going to have to buy the stuff by the gallon now. Sebastian loves it on everything too. Oh boy!
