We made it! Arrival in Rochester...

We did it! After all our craziness, we made it. Wow. We sure learned a lot during our trip. More on that later...for now, the family is dying for pictures so more on the commentary later. Plus it's late and tomorrow is Paul's first day of work so we need to go to bed soon. Tomorrow will be my first day with the boys in a week and in a new city so I know it will be an interesting day! Enjoy "Part II" of our road trip and arrival in Rochester.

Sebastian loved going to the ice machine everyday to fill the cooler.

Paul and I were laughing hysterically at this Volvo wagon stopped at a light with us as we left Raleigh. This would have been what we would have looked like if we didn't have a mini-van. Thank goodness for our van! (By the way, her name is now Savannah, commemorating her first adventure and a favorite city of ours.)

This is a very happy Mami wedged in the backseat between two sleeping boys. Ahhh!!! Bliss!!!

Since we arrived in DC around 4 pm, we decided to brave the metro and take a walk over to the Lincoln and Washington Memorials. Sebastian got a kick out of the Metro "toot toot." Riding the metro with two small kids was a huge challenge, but we made it. Our AWESOME stroller has paid for itself many times already. I am so glad I purchased the most compact and lightest stroller out there or we never could have done it. Also, thank goodness for kid carriers like Paul's Ergo and my Baby K'tan!

Mami with Matteo sleeping on his Metro ride.

Lincoln Memorial.

With the Washington Monument. It was a beautiful and deceivingly hot day!

Brothers in our nation's capital. They didn't care too much...

After enjoying DC, we decided not to brave a restaurant and ordered room service. Sebastian thought it was a party and loved eating in bed.

On the road again somewhere in Pennsylvania... Sebastian really enjoyed his pasta and ate the WHOLE bowl.

The chaos in the back seat. The picture really doesn't do it justice.

Finally! The sign for the last interstate we need to take to get to Rochester!

Checkered flag on the GPS = Rochester hotel = FINAL DESTINATION! YAH! We arrived after 12 hours on the road at 9 pm. The longest and most exhausting day, but the most rewarding.

In the morning, Sebastian checking out the view of downtown Rochester.

Out for a morning stroll in downtown - it was COLD! Oh, us poor Floridians....

New home! Toys and play area. Check! (Check out the awesome view!)

Grocery shopping at the famed Wegmans Grocery Store. Check! (Seriously guys, I'll do a whole post about Wegmans someday it is such a beautiful grocery store.)

New place mat and dinner table set up. Check.

Happy Matteo. Yay, check!

Happy Sebastian putting his cars up in his room. Check!

Favorite car sheets and bed rails. Ready to go - check!

And finally a happy little monkey jumping on the bed. Check! Sebastian is ready to call this new apartment home. Now if only Mami and Daddy could get our stuff and get organized! I promise to put more pictures of the apartment up soon.

Everyday of the road trip, Sebastian would ask to go to his parque or park. Poor kid, we kept telling him in a few days, or it was closed or later. Today, we finally took him to the park that is about a 10 minute walk down our street. He played for an hour and had a great time.

I'm sure we will be frequent visitors here. It's a really nice, shaded park with a big field behind it...looks perfect for sledding once the snow comes!
Again, thank you all for your prayers as we were on the road and I will try to update frequently!
