Airshow Birthday Weekend

Last weekend, we took the boys to the Valkaria Air Show about 30 minutes south of where we live. It was my dad's birthday weekend and since both he and the boys love airplanes, we knew it would be the perfect birthday activity!

Sebastian had a great time taking pictures with his toy camera of all the airplanes on display. Lovin' the whole hunched over pose thing. I guess I must do that....

Who needs a double stroller?! Just throw both kids in the single. They like it! =)

With Lelo and the yellow airplane Sebastian really liked.

Say "cheese!"

Flying the kid airplane....

Matteo's, "please can I have more of that popcorn that I really shouldn't eat" face.

Silly.

The guys watching the airshow.

And of course, we sang happy birthday later that evening. A great day and fun birthday for Lelo!

Birthday, Outdoor Fun and FISH!

Titi turned 50 and we celebrated in style with cake and pastries from the little Colombian bakery.

Matteo couldn't wait to take a bite out of that huge Merengue/Suspiro!

This is a daily occurrence at our house. We spend most of the afternoon playing in the backyard, especially the last month or so since the weather has been so beautiful. They love to roll around in the grass and rough-house. Tears usually ensue at some point, but for the most part it is all fun and games.

My new favorite picture of my two handsome boys.

This little one can be such a daredevil sometimes!

He loves playing with his t-ball set. And he can actually hit the ball too!

Playing in the dirt pile. But as soon as dirt gets in the shoes, the shoes come off!

Making his, "I'm a scary monster face!" at Mami.

This weekend we went to the pet store (Sebastian calls it the animal center for some reason...) to get fish. We decided it was time because Sebastian picked out a tiny toy aquarium as his special toy after visiting the dentist this week and he wouldn't stop talking about it. So we found the aquarium, set it all up and headed out to get some goldfish.

They were both very interested and excited.

Pouring in the newest members of our family into their new home!

Proud! Every morning he wants to check on the fish right away and after dinner he always runs to feed the fish their dinner. =) I think they are enjoying the new fish - Dinky and Dusty. Don't ask. That's just what he came up with....?? Who knows.....

January/February Update

Since I have been slow on the updating, I am trying to play catch up. Here are some other random pictures from late January through early February.

Matteo is having a ball lately at Gymboree. He LOVES it!

In the big rolling ball.

Playing with the whiffle balls - one of his favorite things. I have these at home but he could care less about them. Go figure!

So serious coming out of the tunnel!

Bye, bye Gymbo!

This is what happens when I try to put away laundry. My little "helpers" end up throwing their clothes on the bottom bed and then taking all the clothes out of their dresser to add to the mountain. They have great fun doing it, so I don't usually stop it. Cleaning it all up and putting it back away always kills more time so....whatever! Oh, motherhood....

He was REALLY tired. He doesn't usually nap, but I found him asleep in the chair like this one day.

Excited for pajama day at school.

My stubborn toddler that refused to fall asleep. I was the stubborn Mami who knew he needed a nap. He eventually fell asleep on the floor. He was not going to sleep in his bed!!!! Stubborn kiddo....

Twister has been very popular at our house lately. And a great game since I am working on colors with Matteo!

Brother love!

New Mickey shirts.

Celebrating Nana's birthday.

Reading books with Daddy. Matteo will finally willingly sit still to read a book! Yay!

I just thought this was funny. It was Spirit Night at our local Chick-fil-a for Sebastian's school. The parking lot was FULL of Honda mini-vans. =)

Happy St. Valentine's Day!

We have been staying very busy getting ready for St. Valentine's Day. After making Christmas cards this past December, Sebastian was thrilled when I told him we would be doing some more card making and fun activities. Here is a round-up of all the fun things we have been up to in the last couple weeks that are Valentine's related. Have a wonderful Valentine's Day!

The boys helped me decorate the chocolate covered pretzels and marshmallow's we made to give as gifts this year.

I think Matteo ate more sprinkles and chocolate than he decorated, but hey, that's okay. And no, I did NOT send out the few that they decorated. Too many licked fingers! =)

Our finished products! They looked so nice!

And of course, I had to save a couple for my amazing husband. =) Sebastian and I had a cute conversation about these. He asked why I made these for Daddy and I told him it was because I loved him. Since we are very much in the "why, why, why" phase, he asked, "Why do you love him." And I turned it back to him and asked him, "Why do you think I love Daddy?" Sebastian replied, "Because he is your Best Friend." So sweet. Even 3-year olds notice the love between their parents, such a good reminder for all of us.

Our card making this year involved markers, stickers, foam appliques and stamps. Oh, my! The boys both have a ball doing crafty things.

We made a heart snowflake banner to hang in the play room. Anything that involves a glue stick equals fun to a toddler and preschooler.

Our "Love one Another" hearts collage.

Snowflake up close.

One of Sebastian's many cards.

We made Valentine's day treats for his preschool party at school. These mini hearts were a big hit! He was pretty proud of them too.

Bigger cupcakes we made for the school party. I am no cake expert, but they had fun making them and I think they turned out pretty cute.

Trying to get a cute Valentine's Day inspired picture. This is the best shot. The rest of them they are either not looking or hitting each other with their balloons.

Mommy's Valentine cheesing for the camera.

My almost 2-year old!

Excited to give his teacher her Valentine's Day gifts. We also made these cute coffee filter flowers. We only ended up making a few because they didn't think they were as much fun to make and Mami ended up doing most of the work. = / Maybe next year we can make more - they were so cute!

We hosted Matteo's playgroup Valentine Party at our house last week too. We had quite the yummy spread, as usual.
Best group shot possible for 7 nearly 2-year olds. This is right before they got to open their Valentine's.

Matteo loved opening up his little cards.

Especially the ones that had lollipops!

When Sebastian came home from his school party he was thrilled to open all his Valentine's too. Everyday he keeps asking if it's still Valentine's Day. I keep telling him yes, but only until Monday. Then I guess we will move on to St. Patrick.

Mami with her boys. Happy Valentine's Day everyone!
