Thousand Islands Birthday Trip

Every year for my birthday we try to go on a family mini-vacation. It's my present to myself to just spend time relaxing and enjoying my family. This year we decided to visit an area called Thousand Islands in northern NY to see the fall colors and enjoy some of the prettiest sites NY has to offer. Matteo was ready to go!!

Stroller around Alexandria Bay, the quaint little town on the water where we stayed.

Pretty red leaves!

Matteo wearing his warm poncho - these things are great for babies because you don't have to get them in and out of sleeves. He loves flapping his arms when he wears it. He was all smiles and happy to be back in the warm hotel room.

Saturday morning we went on a boat tour to see some of the beautiful homes on the many islands. Sebastian loves the boat ride and looking out the window. Good thing it was indoors because it was chilly outside!

Gorgeous homes.

Some of the pretty fall colors.

One of the highlights of the area is Boldt Castle, a beautiful castle on Heart Island. Here is one of the castle's buildings, the playhouse for the kids.

Arriving!

I love this! =)

In the afternoon we visited Wesley Island State Park and did a little hiking.

Yay for beautiful leaves! A happy Mami with the babies.

Sebastian is such a trooper so we try to find him a playground at the end of the day since we bring him along on all these "adult" activities. He did really enjoy the day overall though, but he sure loved this turtle at the playground at Wesley Island.

Sebastian loves saying the Mr. 2 Bits Florida Gator cheer now. On Saturday night we watched the most excellent UF -v- LSU game and Sebastian was super hyped up watching his Gators play. He stayed up to watch half of the game with us and chomped and cheered for his Gators. At night when he says his prayers he always thanks Jesus for the Gators. =)
